Each discovery is a unique physical work. Forms, themes and series may reappear across various collections.
The discoveries are made of bog wood which is between 400 and 4,000, perhaps 5,000 years old - Ireland's bogs are ancient. The wood is carefully scraped, cleaned and reinforced - but some parts of the sculptures are delicate, hence they are not to be handled and played with - they are for display.
